أَلَٓرَ كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ اَلنَّاسَ مِنَ اَلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى اَلنُّورِ﴿1﴾
ألر كتب أنزلنه إليك لتخرج الناس من الظلمت إلى النور
Alif Lām Ra. This is a book that We have sent down to you, so that you may bring people out of the depths of darkness into the light, by their Lord’s permission, to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ اِلْعَزِيزِ اِلْحَمِيدِ﴿2﴾
بإذن ربهم إلى صرط العزيز الحميد
Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment!
اِللَّهُ اُلذِي لَهُ مَا فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَوَيْلٞ لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٖ شَدِيدٍ﴿3﴾
الله الذي له ما في السموت وما في الأرض وويل للكفرين من عذاب شديد
Those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter and prevent [people] from Allah’s way, seeking to make it crooked; it is they who have gone far astray.
اِلذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ اَلْحَيَوٰةَ اَلدُّنْيَا عَلَى اَلْأٓخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اِللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاً أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلِ بَعِيدٖ﴿4﴾
الذين يستحبون الحيوة الدنيا على الأخرة ويصدون عن سبيل الله ويبغونها عوجا أولئك في ضلل بعيد
We did not send any messenger but in the language of his people to make things clear for them. Allah causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ فَيُضِلُّ اُللَّهُ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَّشَآءُ وَهْوَ اَلْعَزِيزُ اُلْحَكِيمُ﴿5﴾
وما أرسلنا من رسول إلا بلسان قومه ليبين لهم فيضل الله من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء وهو العزيز الحكيم
We sent Moses with Our signs [saying], “Bring your people out of the depths of darkness into the light, and remind them of Allah’s days. Indeed, there are signs in this for every patient and grateful person.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ اَلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى اَلنُّورِ﴿6﴾
ولقد أرسلنا موسى بـايتنا أن أخرج قومك من الظلمت إلى النور
And [remember] when Moses said to his people, “Remember Allah’s favor upon you when He saved you from Pharaoh’s people who were inflicting upon you the worst torment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your women alive; that was a great trial from your Lord.
وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَييَّٰمِ اِللَّهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٖ شَكُورٖ﴿7﴾
وذكرهم بأييم الله إن في ذلك لأيت لكل صبار شكور
And [remember] when your Lord declared, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe indeed.’”
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اِذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَيٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ اَلْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٞ﴿8﴾
وإذ قال موسى لقومه اذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ أنجيكم من ءال فرعون يسومونكم سوء العذاب ويذبحون أبناءكم ويستحيون نساءكم وفي ذلكم بلاء من ربكم عظيم
And Moses said, “If you and all those who are on earth were to disbelieve, indeed Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.”
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٞ﴿9﴾
وإذ تأذن ربكم لئن شكرتم لأزيدنكم ولئن كفرتم إن عذابي لشديد
Have there not come to you the stories of those who came before you – the people of Noah, ‘Ād and Thamūd, and those who came after them? No one knows them except Allah. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they shoved their hands into their mouths and said, “We disbelieve in what you are sent with, and we surely doubt what you are calling us to.”
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِن تَكْفُرُواْ أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي اِلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعاٗ فَإِنَّ اَللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ﴿10﴾
وقال موسى إن تكفروا أنتم ومن في الأرض جميعا فإن الله لغني حميد
Their messengers said, “Can there be any doubt about Allah, the Creator of the heavens and earth? He calls you so that He may forgive some of your sins, and give you respite for an appointed term.” They said, “You are but humans like us! You want to turn us away from what our forefathers used to worship; then bring us a clear proof.”
أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُاْ اُلذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٖ وَعَادٖ وَثَمُودَ﴿11﴾
ألم يأتكم نبؤا الذين من قبلكم قوم نوح وعاد وثمود
Their messengers said to them, “We are no more than human beings like you, but it is Allah Who bestows His favor upon whom He wills of His slaves. It is not for us to bring you proof except with Allah’s permission, and in Allah let the believers put their trust.
وَالذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا اَللَّهُ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرَدُّواْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَقَالُواْ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٖ﴿12﴾
والذين من بعدهم لا يعلمهم إلا الله جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينت فردوا أيديهم في أفوههم وقالوا إنا كفرنا بما أرسلتم به وإنا لفي شك مما تدعوننا إليه مريب
Why should we not put our trust in Allah, and it is He Who has guided us to our ways? We will surely be patient against whatever harm you cause us. And in Allah let the faithful put their trust.”
قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِي اِللَّهِ شَكّٞ فَاطِرِ اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّىٗ قَالُواْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ﴿13﴾
قالت رسلهم أفي الله شك فاطر السموت والأرض يدعوكم ليغفر لكم من ذنوبكم ويؤخركم إلى أجل مسمى قالوا إن أنتم إلا بشر مثلنا تريدون أن تصدونا عما كان يعبد ءاباؤنا فأتونا بسلطن مبين
The disbelievers said to their messengers, “We will surely drive you out of our land unless you return to our religion.” Their Lord then inspired them, “We will certainly destroy the wrongdoers,
قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اَللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اِللَّهِ وَعَلَى اَللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ اِلْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴿14﴾
قالت لهم رسلهم إن نحن إلا بشر مثلكم ولكن الله يمن على من يشاء من عباده وما كان لنا أن نأتيكم بسلطن إلا بإذن الله وعلى الله فليتوكل المؤمنون
and We will make you dwell in the land after them. This is for those who fear standing before Me, and who fear My warning.”
وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اَللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَيٰنَا سُبُلَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَا ءَاذَيْتُمُونَا وَعَلَى اَللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ اِلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ﴿15﴾
وما لنا ألا نتوكل على الله وقد هدينا سبلنا ولنصبرن على ما ءاذيتمونا وعلى الله فليتوكل المتوكلون
[The messengers] sought victory, and every obstinate tyrant was doomed.
وَقَالَ اَلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ اَلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿16﴾
وقال الذين كفروا لرسلهم لنخرجنكم من أرضنا أو لتعودن في ملتنا فأوحى إليهم ربهم لنهلكن الظلمين
Hell awaits him, and he will be made to drink of oozing pus,
وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ اُلْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِي وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ﴿17﴾
ولنسكننكم الأرض من بعدهم ذلك لمن خاف مقامي وخاف وعيد
which he will arduously sip but can hardly swallow it, and death will come to him from every direction, yet he will not die. And ahead of him will be a harsh punishment.
وَاسْتَفْتَحُواْ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٖ﴿18﴾
واستفتحوا وخاب كل جبار عنيد
The deeds of those who disbelieve in their Lord are like ashes that are blown away by the wind on a stormy day. They will gain nothing from what they did; that is the farthest misguidance.
مِّنْ وَّرَآئِهِ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَىٰ مِن مَّآءٖ صَدِيدٖ﴿19﴾
من ورائه جهنم ويسقى من ماء صديد
Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and earth for a true purpose? If He wills, He can take you away and replace you with a new creation.
يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُ وَيَأْتِيهِ اِلْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٖ وَمِنْ وَّرَآئِهِ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٞ﴿20﴾
يتجرعه ولا يكاد يسيغه ويأتيه الموت من كل مكان وما هو بميت ومن ورائه عذاب غليظ
That is not difficult for Allah.
مَّثَلُ اُلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ اِشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ اِلرِّيَٰحُ فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٖ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُواْ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٖ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَلضَّلَٰلُ اُلْبَعِيدُ﴿21﴾
مثل الذين كفروا بربهم أعملهم كرماد اشتدت به الريح في يوم عاصف لا يقدرون مما كسبوا على شيء ذلك هو الضلل البعيد
All will appear before Allah, then those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We were your followers; can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?” They will say, “If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we cry or suffer patiently, we have no escape.”
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اَللَّهَ خَلَقَ اَلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ إِنْ يَّشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٖ جَدِيدٖ وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اَللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٖ﴿22﴾
ألم تر أن الله خلق السموت والأرض بالحق إن يشأ يذهبكم ويأت بخلق جديد وما ذلك على الله بعزيز
Satan will say when the matter is finally decided, “Allah gave you a true promise; I also gave you a promise, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you, except that I called you and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot rescue you, nor can you rescue me. I deny your previous association of me with Allah. Indeed, for the wrongdoers there will be a painful punishment.”
وَبَرَزُواْ لِلهِ جَمِيعاٗ فَقَالَ اَلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُاْ لِلذِينَ اَسْتَكْبَرُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعاٗ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ اِللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٖ قَالُواْ لَوْ هَدَيٰنَا اَللَّهُ لَهَدَيْنَٰكُمْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٖ﴿23﴾
وبرزوا لله جميعا فقال الضعفؤا للذين استكبروا إنا كنا لكم تبعا فهل أنتم مغنون عنا من عذاب الله من شيء قالوا لو هدينا الله لهدينكم سواء علينا أجزعنا أم صبرنا ما لنا من محيص
Those who believe and do righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens under which rivers flow, abiding therein forever, by the permission of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be, “Peace!”
وَقَالَ اَلشَّيْطَٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ اَلْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ اَلْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِي عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّا أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلَا تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُواْ أَنفُسَكُم مَّا أَنَا بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِيَّ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَا أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ اَلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ﴿24﴾
وقال الشيطن لما قضي الأمر إن الله وعدكم وعد الحق ووعدتكم فأخلفتكم وما كان لي عليكم من سلطن إلا أن دعوتكم فاستجبتم لي فلا تلوموني ولوموا أنفسكم ما أنا بمصرخكم وما أنتم بمصرخي إني كفرت بما أشركتمون من قبل إن الظلمين لهم عذاب أليم
Do you not see how Allah compares a good word to a good tree? Its root is firm and its branches reach the sky,
وَأُدْخِلَ اَلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا اَلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٌ﴿25﴾
وأدخل الذين ءامنوا وعملوا الصلحت جنت تجري من تحتها الأنهر خلدين فيها بإذن ربهم تحيتهم فيها سلم
yielding its fruit all the times, by the permission of its Lord. Allah makes such comparisons for people, so that they may take heed.
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اَللَّهُ مَثَلاٗ كَلِمَةٗ طَيِّبَةٗ كَشَجَرَةٖ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٞ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي اِلسَّمَآءِ﴿26﴾
ألم تر كيف ضرب الله مثلا كلمة طيبة كشجرة طيبة أصلها ثابت وفرعها في السماء
But an evil word is like an evil tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.
تُؤْتِي أُكْلَهَا كُلَّ حِينِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا وَيَضْرِبُ اُللَّهُ اُلْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ﴿27﴾
تؤتي أكلها كل حين بإذن ربها ويضرب الله الأمثال للناس لعلهم يتذكرون
Allah keeps those who believe steadfast with the firm Word [of faith] in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. But Allah causes to stray the wrongdoers; Allah does whatever He wills.
وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٖ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ اُجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ اِلْأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٖ﴿28﴾
ومثل كلمة خبيثة كشجرة خبيثة اجتثت من فوق الأرض ما لها من قرار
Did you not see those who exchanged Allah’s blessings with disbelief, and led their people to the abode of ruin?
يُثَبِّتُ اُللَّهُ اُلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِالْقَوْلِ اِلثَّابِتِ فِي اِلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا وَفِي اِلْأٓخِرَةِ وَيُضِلُّ اُللَّهُ اُلظَّٰلِمِينَ وَيَفْعَلُ اُللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ﴿29﴾
يثبت الله الذين ءامنوا بالقول الثابت في الحيوة الدنيا وفي الأخرة ويضل الله الظلمين ويفعل الله ما يشاء
In Hell they will burn; what an evil place to settle in!
اَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى اَلذِينَ بَدَّلُواْ نِعْمَتَ اَللَّهِ كُفْراٗ وَأَحَلُّواْ قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ اَلْبَوَارِ﴿30﴾
الم تر إلى الذين بدلوا نعمت الله كفرا وأحلوا قومهم دار البوار
They set up rivals to Allah to mislead people from His way. Say, “Enjoy yourselves for a while! Your destination will be the Fire.”
جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا وَبِئْسَ اَلْقَرَارُ﴿31﴾
جهنم يصلونها وبيس القرار
Tell My slaves who believe to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, before there comes a Day when there will be no bargaining or friendship.
وَجَعَلُواْ لِلهِ أَندَاداٗ لِّيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُواْ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى اَلنَّارِ﴿32﴾
وجعلوا لله أندادا ليضلوا عن سبيله قل تمتعوا فإن مصيركم إلى النار
It is Allah Who has created the heavens and earth and sent down rain from the sky, producing therewith fruits as provision for you. He has made the ships for your service to sail through the sea by His command and has made for you the rivers.
قُل لِّعِبَادِيَ اَلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُقِيمُواْ اُلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ سِرّاٗ وَعَلَٰنِيَةٗ مِّن قَبْلِ أَنْ يَّأْتِيَ يَوْمٞ لَّا بَيْعٞ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَٰلٌ﴿33﴾
قل لعبادي الذين ءامنوا يقيموا الصلوة وينفقوا مما رزقنهم سرا وعلنية من قبل أن يأتي يوم لا بيع فيه ولا خلل
He has made the sun and the moon for your service, both constant in their courses, and has made for you the night and the day.
اِللَّهُ اُلذِي خَلَقَ اَلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ اَلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِ مِنَ اَلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقاٗ لَّكُمْ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اُلْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِيَ فِي اِلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اُلْأَنْهَٰرَ﴿34﴾
الله الذي خلق السموت والأرض وأنزل من السماء ماء فأخرج به من الثمرت رزقا لكم وسخر لكم الفلك لتجري في البحر بأمره وسخر لكم الأنهر
And He gave you of all that you have asked for. If you try to count the blessings of Allah, you cannot count them. Indeed, mankind is truly unjust and ungrateful.
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اُلشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيْنِ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اُليْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ﴿35﴾
وسخر لكم الشمس والقمر دائبين وسخر لكم اليل والنهار
And [remember] when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city [of Makkah] secure and save me and my children from worshiping idols.
وَءَاتَيٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعْمَتَ اَللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا إِنَّ اَلْإِنسَٰنَ لَظَلُومٞ كَفَّارٞ﴿36﴾
وءاتيكم من كل ما سألتموه وإن تعدوا نعمت الله لا تحصوها إن الإنسن لظلوم كفار
My Lord, they have led many people astray. So whoever follows me, he belongs to me; and whoever disobeys me, then You are All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ رَبِّ اِجْعَلْ هَٰذَا اَلْبَلَدَ ءَامِناٗ وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ اَلْأَصْنَامَ﴿37﴾
وإذ قال إبرهيم رب اجعل هذا البلد ءامنا واجنبني وبني أن نعبد الأصنام
Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the people’s hearts incline towards them, and provide for them fruits, so that they may be grateful.
رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيراٗ مِّنَ اَلنَّاسِ فَمَن تَبِعَنِي فَإِنَّهُ مِنِّي وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ﴿38﴾
رب إنهن أضللن كثيرا من الناس فمن تبعني فإنه مني ومن عصاني فإنك غفور رحيم
Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing is hidden from Allah on earth or in heaven.
رَّبَّنَا إِنِّيَ أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ اَلْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُواْ اُلصَّلَوٰةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْـِٕدَةٗ مِّنَ اَلنَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُم مِّنَ اَلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ﴿39﴾
ربنا إني أسكنت من ذريتي بواد غير ذي زرع عند بيتك المحرم ربنا ليقيموا الصلوة فاجعل أفـدة من الناس تهوي إليهم وارزقهم من الثمرت لعلهم يشكرون
All praise be to Allah Who has granted me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the All-Hearing of prayers.
رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اَللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٖ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي اِلسَّمَآءِ﴿40﴾
ربنا إنك تعلم ما نخفي وما نعلن وما يخفى على الله من شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء
My Lord, make me steadfast in prayer and those of my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.
اِلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ اِلذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى اَلْكِبَرِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ اُلدُّعَآءِ﴿41﴾
الحمد لله الذي وهب لي على الكبر إسمعيل وإسحق إن ربي لسميع الدعاء
Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the reckoning will take place.”
رَبِّ اِجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ اَلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ﴿42﴾
رب اجعلني مقيم الصلوة ومن ذريتي ربنا وتقبل دعاء
Never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do; He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror] –
رَبَّنَا اَغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ اُلْحِسَابُ﴿43﴾
ربنا اغفر لي ولولدي وللمؤمنين يوم يقوم الحساب
rushing forward with their heads raised up, eyes not blinking and hearts void.
وَلَا تَحْسِبَنَّ اَللَّهَ غَٰفِلاً عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ اُلظَّٰلِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٖ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ اِلْأَبْصَٰرُ﴿44﴾
ولا تحسبن الله غفلا عما يعمل الظلمون إنما يؤخرهم ليوم تشخص فيه الأبصر
Warn people of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and the wrongdoers will say, “Our Lord, give us a little more time, so that we may respond to Your call and follow the messengers!” [They will be told], “Did you not swear before that you would never cease to exist?”
مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ وَأَفْـِٕدَتُهُمْ هَوَآءٞ﴿45﴾
مهطعين مقنعي رءوسهم لا يرتد إليهم طرفهم وأفـدتهم هواء
You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them, and We gave you examples.”
وَأَنذِرِ اِلنَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ اُلْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ اُلذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رَبَّنَا أَخِّرْنَا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ اِلرُّسُلَ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُواْ أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٖ﴿46﴾
وأنذر الناس يوم يأتيهم العذاب فيقول الذين ظلموا ربنا أخرنا إلى أجل قريب نجب دعوتك ونتبع الرسل أولم تكونوا أقسمتم من قبل ما لكم من زوال
They hatched their plot, but their plot was known to Allah; even if their plot were such that would move mountains.
وَسَكَنتُمْ فِي مَسَٰكِنِ اِلذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ اُلْأَمْثَالَ﴿47﴾
وسكنتم في مسكن الذين ظلموا أنفسهم وتبين لكم كيف فعلنا بهم وضربنا لكم الأمثال
Never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Allah is All-Mighty, Capable of Retribution.
وَقَدْ مَكَرُواْ مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِندَ اَللَّهِ مَكْرُهُمْ وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ اُلْجِبَالُ﴿48﴾
وقد مكروا مكرهم وعند الله مكرهم وإن كان مكرهم لتزول منه الجبال
The Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will the heavens, and all will appear before Allah, the One, the Subjugator.
فَلَا تَحْسِبَنَّ اَللَّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِ رُسُلَهُ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَزِيزٞ ذُو اُنتِقَامٖ﴿49﴾
فلا تحسبن الله مخلف وعده رسله إن الله عزيز ذو انتقام
On that Day you will see the wicked bound together in chains,
يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ اُلْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ اَلْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَبَرَزُواْ لِلهِ اِلْوَٰحِدِ اِلْقَهَّارِ﴿50﴾
يوم تبدل الأرض غير الأرض والسموت وبرزوا لله الوحد القهار
their garments will be of pitch and their faces covered with Fire.
وَتَرَى اَلْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٖ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِي اِلْأَصْفَادِ﴿51﴾
وترى المجرمين يومئذ مقرنين في الأصفاد
So that Allah may recompense every soul for what it did. Allah is swift in reckoning.
سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٖ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ اُلنَّارُ﴿52﴾
سرابيلهم من قطران وتغشى وجوههم النار
This [Qur’an] is a message for all mankind, so that they may be warned thereby and know that He is One God, and so that the people of understanding may take heed.
لِيَجْزِيَ اَللَّهُ كُلَّ نَفْسٖ مَّا كَسَبَتْ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ سَرِيعُ اُلْحِسَابِ﴿53﴾
ليجزي الله كل نفس ما كسبت إن الله سريع الحساب
هَٰذَا بَلَٰغٞ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُواْ بِهِ وَلِيَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ اُلْأَلْبَٰبِ﴿54﴾
هذا بلغ للناس ولينذروا به وليعلموا أنما هو إله وحد وليذكر أولوا الألبب
