بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ اِلْقَدْرِ﴿1﴾
إنا أنزلنه في ليلة القدر
Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down on the Night of Decree.
2
وَمَا أَدْرَيٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ اُلْقَدْرِ﴿2﴾
وما أدريك ما ليلة القدر
How do you know what the Night of Decree is?
3
لَيْلَةُ اُلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٞ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٖ﴿3﴾
ليلة القدر خير من ألف شهر
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
4
تَنَزَّلُ اُلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٖ﴿4﴾
تنزل الملئكة والروح فيها بإذن ربهم من كل أمر
On that night the angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees.
5
سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ اِلْفَجْرِ﴿5﴾
سلم هي حتى مطلع الفجر
It is all peace until the break of dawn.
