يس

يَسِٓ وَالْقُرْءَانِ اِلْحَكِيمِ﴿1﴾

يس والقرءان الحكيم

Yā Sīn

إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ اَلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿2﴾

إنك لمن المرسلين

By the Qur’an, full of wisdom,

عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖ﴿3﴾

على صرط مستقيم

You [O Muhammad] are indeed one of the messengers,

تَنزِيلُ اُلْعَزِيزِ اِلرَّحِيمِ﴿4﴾

تنزيل العزيز الرحيم

on a straight path,

لِتُنذِرَ قَوْماٗ مَّا أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ﴿5﴾

لتنذر قوما ما أنذر ءاباؤهم فهم غفلون

[This is] a revelation from the All-Mighty, Most Merciful,

لَقَدْ حَقَّ اَلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿6﴾

لقد حق القول على أكثرهم فهم لا يؤمنون

so that you warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلاٗ فَهْيَ إِلَى اَلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ﴿7﴾

إنا جعلنا في أعنقهم أغللا فهي إلى الأذقان فهم مقمحون

The decree [of punishment] has been passed against most of them, for they will not believe.

وَجَعَلْنَا مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سُدّاٗ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سُدّاٗ فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ﴿8﴾

وجعلنا من بين أيديهم سدا ومن خلفهم سدا فأغشينهم فهم لا يبصرون

[It is as if] We have placed shackles around their necks up to their chins, so their heads are forced to remain up,

وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَٰانذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿9﴾

وسواء عليهم ءانذرتهم أم لم تنذرهم لا يؤمنون

and We have placed a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and have blocked their vision so they cannot see.

إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اِتَّبَعَ اَلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ اَلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٖ وَأَجْرٖ كَرِيمٍ﴿10﴾

إنما تنذر من اتبع الذكر وخشي الرحمن بالغيب فبشره بمغفرة وأجر كريم

It is the same to them whether you warn them or not, they will not believe.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ اِلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِي إِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ﴿11﴾

إنا نحن نحي الموتى ونكتب ما قدموا وءاثرهم وكل شيء أحصينه في إمام مبين

You can only warn one who follows the Reminder and fears the Most Compassionate unseen. So give him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous reward.

وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً أَصْحَٰبَ اَلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا اَلْمُرْسَلُونَ﴿12﴾

واضرب لهم مثلا أصحب القرية إذ جاءها المرسلون

It is We Who give life to the dead, and record what they send forth and what they leave behind, and We keep an account of everything in a clear Record.

إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اُثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٖ فَقَالُواْ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ﴿13﴾

إذ أرسلنا إليهم اثنين فكذبوهما فعززنا بثالث فقالوا إنا إليكم مرسلون

Give them an example of the People of the Town when the messengers came to it.

قَالُواْ مَا أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنزَلَ اَلرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ﴿14﴾

قالوا ما أنتم إلا بشر مثلنا وما أنزل الرحمن من شيء إن أنتم إلا تكذبون

When We sent them two [messengers], but they rejected them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, “We are sent to you as messengers.”

قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ﴿15﴾

قالوا ربنا يعلم إنا إليكم لمرسلون

They said, “You are no more than human beings like us, and the Most Compassionate has not sent down anything. You are simply lying.”

وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلَّا اَلْبَلَٰغُ اُلْمُبِينُ﴿16﴾

وما علينا إلا البلغ المبين

They said, “Our Lord knows that we are sent to you as messengers.

قَالُواْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ﴿17﴾

قالوا إنا تطيرنا بكم لئن لم تنتهوا لنرجمنكم وليمسنكم منا عذاب أليم

Our duty is only to convey the message clearly.”

قَالُواْ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ أَٰئِن ذُكِّرْتُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٞ مُّسْرِفُونَ﴿18﴾

قالوا طئركم معكم أئن ذكرتم بل أنتم قوم مسرفون

The people said, “We consider you as an evil omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and we will inflict upon you a painful punishment.”

وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا اَلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٞ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ اِتَّبِعُواْ اُلْمُرْسَلِينَ﴿19﴾

وجاء من أقصا المدينة رجل يسعى قال يقوم اتبعوا المرسلين

The messengers said, “Your evil omen is with yourselves [because of your disbelief]. Is it because you are admonished? Rather, you are a people who transgress all bounds.”

اَتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْراٗ وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ﴿20﴾

اتبعوا من لا يسـلكم أجرا وهم مهتدون

A man came from the farthest end of the city, rushing, and said, “O my people, follow the messengers.

وَمَالِيَ لَا أَعْبُدُ اُلذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿21﴾

ومالي لا أعبد الذي فطرني وإليه ترجعون

Follow those who ask no recompense of you, and who are guided.

ءَٰاتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِ ءَالِهَةً إِنْ يُّرِدْنِ اِلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرّٖ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَئْاٗ وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ﴿22﴾

ءاتخذ من دونه ءالهة إن يردن الرحمن بضر لا تغن عني شفعتهم شيا ولا ينقذون

Why should I not worship the One Who created me and to Whom you will all be brought back?

إِنِّيَ إِذاٗ لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ﴿23﴾

إني إذا لفي ضلل مبين

Should I take besides Him other gods whose intercession cannot avail me in the least, nor can they come to my rescue, if the Most Compassionate wills to harm me?

إِنِّيَ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ﴿24﴾

إني ءامنت بربكم فاسمعون

Surely I would then be clearly misguided.

قِيلَ اَدْخُلِ اِلْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ﴿25﴾

قيل ادخل الجنة قال يليت قومي يعلمون

I believe in your Lord, so listen to me.”

بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ اَلْمُكْرَمِينَ﴿26﴾

بما غفر لي ربي وجعلني من المكرمين

[But they killed him], so he was told, “Enter Paradise.” He said, “If only my people knew

وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِن بَعْدِهِ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ اَلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ﴿27﴾

وما أنزلنا على قومه من بعده من جند من السماء وما كنا منزلين

of how my Lord has forgiven me, and made me among the honored ones.”

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَ﴿28﴾

إن كانت إلا صيحة وحدة فإذا هم خمدون

After his death, We did not send down any soldiers from heaven against his people, nor did We have to do so.

يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى اَلْعِبَادِ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ﴿29﴾

يحسرة على العباد ما يأتيهم من رسول إلا كانوا به يستهزءون

It was no more than a single blast, and immediately they were extinguished.

أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ اَلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ﴿30﴾

ألم يروا كم أهلكنا قبلهم من القرون أنهم إليهم لا يرجعون

Alas for the humans! No messenger ever comes to them but they ridicule him.

وَإِن كُلّٞ لَّمَا جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ﴿31﴾

وإن كل لما جميع لدينا محضرون

Do they not see how many generations We destroyed before them who will never come back to them?

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ اُلْأَرْضُ اُلْمَيِّتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبّاٗ فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ﴿32﴾

وءاية لهم الأرض الميتة أحيينها وأخرجنا منها حبا فمنه يأكلون

Yet all of them will be brought before Us.

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٖ مِّن نَّخِيلٖ وَأَعْنَٰبٖ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ اَلْعُيُونِ﴿33﴾

وجعلنا فيها جنت من نخيل وأعنب وفجرنا فيها من العيون

There is a sign for them in the dead land: We give it life and produce from it grain for them to eat.

لِيَأْكُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ﴿34﴾

ليأكلوا من ثمره وما عملته أيديهم أفلا يشكرون

And We have made therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines, and caused springs to gush forth,

سُبْحَٰنَ اَلذِي خَلَقَ اَلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنبِتُ اُلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴿35﴾

سبحن الذي خلق الأزوج كلها مما تنبت الأرض ومن أنفسهم ومما لا يعلمون

so that they may eat of its fruit that was not made by their hands. Will they not then give thanks?

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ اُليْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ اُلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ﴿36﴾

وءاية لهم اليل نسلخ منه النهار فإذا هم مظلمون

Glory be to the One Who created all types of things that the earth produces, and of themselves, and of things that they have no knowledge about.

وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرّٖ لَّهَا ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ اُلْعَزِيزِ اِلْعَلِيمِ﴿37﴾

والشمس تجري لمستقر لها ذلك تقدير العزيز العليم

There is another sign for them in the night: We strip from it the daylight, and they are left in darkness.

وَالْقَمَرُ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ اِلْقَدِيمِ﴿38﴾

والقمر قدرنه منازل حتى عاد كالعرجون القديم

The sun is running to its determined course. That is the design of the All-Mighty, All-Knowing.

لَا اَلشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ اَلْقَمَرَ وَلَا اَليْلُ سَابِقُ اُلنَّهَارِ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسْبَحُونَ﴿39﴾

لا الشمس ينبغي لها أن تدرك القمر ولا اليل سابق النهار وكل في فلك يسبحون

As for the moon, We have determined phases for it, until it becomes like an old palm stalk.

وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ فِي اِلْفُلْكِ اِلْمَشْحُونِ﴿40﴾

وءاية لهم أنا حملنا ذريتهم في الفلك المشحون

It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor for the night to outstrip the day. Each is floating in its own orbit.

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ﴿41﴾

وخلقنا لهم من مثله ما يركبون

Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the loaded Ark,

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ﴿42﴾

وإن نشأ نغرقهم فلا صريخ لهم ولا هم ينقذون

and We created for them similar things on which they ride.

إِلَّا رَحْمَةٗ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعاً إِلَىٰ حِينٖ﴿43﴾

إلا رحمة منا ومتعا إلى حين

If We willed, We could drown them, then there would be no one to respond to their cry, nor could they be rescued,

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اُتَّقُواْ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ﴿44﴾

وإذا قيل لهم اتقوا ما بين أيديكم وما خلفكم لعلكم ترحمون

except by a mercy from Us, leaving them to enjoy for a while.

وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٖ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ﴿45﴾

وما تأتيهم من ءاية من ءايت ربهم إلا كانوا عنها معرضين

When it is said to them, “Beware of what is ahead of you and what is behind you, so that you may be shown mercy.”

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اُللَّهُ قَالَ اَلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ اُللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ﴿46﴾

وإذا قيل لهم أنفقوا مما رزقكم الله قال الذين كفروا للذين ءامنوا أنطعم من لو يشاء الله أطعمه إن أنتم إلا في ضلل مبين

No sign ever comes to them from their Lord except that they turn away from it.

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا اَلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ﴿47﴾

ويقولون متى هذا الوعد إن كنتم صدقين

And when it is said to them, “Spend of what Allah has provided you with”, the disbelievers say to the believers, “Should we feed those whom Allah could feed if He willed? You are clearly misguided!”

مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخصِّمُونَ﴿48﴾

ما ينظرون إلا صيحة وحدة تأخذهم وهم يخصمون

They say, “When will this promise come to pass, if you are truthful?”

فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةٗ وَلَا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ﴿49﴾

فلا يستطيعون توصية ولا إلى أهلهم يرجعون

They are not awaiting but a single Blast that will seize them while they are still disputing.

وَنُفِخَ فِي اِلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ اَلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ﴿50﴾

ونفخ في الصور فإذا هم من الأجداث إلى ربهم ينسلون

Then they will not be able to make a will, nor will they be able to return to their households.

قَالُواْ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَن بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ اَلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ اَلْمُرْسَلُونَ﴿51﴾

قالوا يويلنا من بعثنا من مرقدنا هذا ما وعد الرحمن وصدق المرسلون

The Trumpet will be blown [again], and at once they will rush from their graves to their Lord.

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ﴿52﴾

إن كانت إلا صيحة وحدة فإذا هم جميع لدينا محضرون

They will say, “Woe to us! Who has resurrected us from our resting place?” [They will be told,] “This is what the Most Compassionate promised, and the messengers told the truth.”

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٞ شَئْاٗ وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿53﴾

فاليوم لا تظلم نفس شيا ولا تجزون إلا ما كنتم تعملون

It will only be a single Blast, and at once they will all be brought before Us.

إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ اَلْجَنَّةِ اِلْيَوْمَ فِي شُغْلٖ فَٰكِهُونَ﴿54﴾

إن أصحب الجنة اليوم في شغل فكهون

On that Day no soul will be wronged in the least, nor will you be recompensed except for what you used to do.

هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِي ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى اَلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ﴿55﴾

هم وأزوجهم في ظلل على الأرائك متكـون

Indeed, on that Day the people of Paradise will be busy enjoying themselves,

لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ﴿56﴾

لهم فيها فكهة ولهم ما يدعون

they and their spouses will be reclining on couches in the shade.

سَلَٰمٞ قَوْلاٗ مِّن رَّبّٖ رَّحِيمٖ﴿57﴾

سلم قولا من رب رحيم

They will have therein fruits and all what they ask for.

وَامْتَٰزُواْ اُلْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا اَلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿58﴾

وامتزوا اليوم أيها المجرمون

“Peace”: a word from a Most Merciful Lord.

أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِي ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُواْ اُلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿59﴾

ألم أعهد إليكم يبني ءادم أن لا تعبدوا الشيطن إنه لكم عدو مبين

“Stand apart [from the believers] this Day, O wicked ones!

وَأَنُ اُعْبُدُونِي هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسْتَقِيمٞ﴿60﴾

وأن اعبدوني هذا صرط مستقيم

Did I not command you, O children of Adam, not to worship Satan, for he is your sworn enemy,

وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلّاٗ كَثِيراً أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُواْ تَعْقِلُونَ﴿61﴾

ولقد أضل منكم جبلا كثيرا أفلم تكونوا تعقلون

but to worship Me? This is a straight path.

هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ اُلتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ﴿62﴾

هذه جهنم التي كنتم توعدون

He had already misled great multitudes of you. Did you not then have sense?

اَصْلَوْهَا اَلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ﴿63﴾

اصلوها اليوم بما كنتم تكفرون

This is the Hell that you were promised.

اَلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ﴿64﴾

اليوم نختم على أفوههم وتكلمنا أيديهم وتشهد أرجلهم بما كانوا يكسبون

Burn in it Today for your disbelief.”

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُواْ اُلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ﴿65﴾

ولو نشاء لطمسنا على أعينهم فاستبقوا الصرط فأنى يبصرون

Today We will seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to all what they used to do.

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اَسْتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّاٗ وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ﴿66﴾

ولو نشاء لمسخنهم على مكانتهم فما استطعوا مضيا ولا يرجعون

If We willed, We could have taken away their sight, so they would rush to find their way, but then how could they see?

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نَنكُسْهُ فِي اِلْخَلْقِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ﴿67﴾

ومن نعمره ننكسه في الخلق أفلا تعقلون

And if We willed, We could have paralyzed them in their places, so they could neither move forward nor backward.

وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ اُلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٞ وَقُرْءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿68﴾

وما علمنه الشعر وما ينبغي له إن هو إلا ذكر وقرءان مبين

Whomsoever We give a long life, We cause his strength to decline. Do they not then understand?

لِّتُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيّاٗ وَيَحِقَّ اَلْقَوْلُ عَلَى اَلْكَٰفِرِينَ﴿69﴾

لتنذر من كان حيا ويحق القول على الكفرين

We have not taught him poetry, nor is it fitting for him. This is only a Reminder and a clear Qur’an

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَٰماٗ فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ﴿70﴾

أولم يروا أنا خلقنا لهم مما عملت أيدينا أنعما فهم لها ملكون

so that he may warn those who are truly alive and establish the argument against the disbelievers.

وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ﴿71﴾

وذللنها لهم فمنها ركوبهم ومنها يأكلون

Do they not see that We have created for them livestock made by Our Hands, and then they are their owners?

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ﴿72﴾

ولهم فيها منفع ومشارب أفلا يشكرون

And We have made them subservient to them; some they ride, and from others they eat,

وَاتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ﴿73﴾

واتخذوا من دون الله ءالهة لعلهم ينصرون

and there are other benefits and drinks therein for them. Will they not then give thanks?

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٞ مُّحْضَرُونَ﴿74﴾

لا يستطيعون نصرهم وهم لهم جند محضرون

Yet they have taken other gods besides Allah, hoping that they may be helped.

فَلَا يُحْزِنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ﴿75﴾

فلا يحزنك قولهم إنا نعلم ما يسرون وما يعلنون

They cannot help them, yet they serve them as their dedicated guards.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ اَلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿76﴾

أولم ير الإنسن أنا خلقنه من نطفة فإذا هو خصيم مبين

Do not let their words grieve you. Surely We know what they conceal and what they reveal.

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلاٗ وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ قَالَ مَنْ يُّحْيِ اِلْعِظَٰمَ وَهْيَ رَمِيمٞ﴿77﴾

وضرب لنا مثلا ونسي خلقه قال من يحي العظم وهي رميم

Does man not see that We have created him from a sperm-drop, then he becomes a clear adversary,

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا اَلذِي أَنشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ وَهْوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ﴿78﴾

قل يحييها الذي أنشأها أول مرة وهو بكل خلق عليم

producing arguments against Us while forgetting his own creation. He says, “Who can give life to the bones after they have crumbled to dust?”

اِلذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَلشَّجَرِ اِلْأَخْضَرِ نَاراٗ فَإِذَا أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ﴿79﴾

الذي جعل لكم من الشجر الأخضر نارا فإذا أنتم منه توقدون

Say, “The One Who created them in the first place will give life to them, for He has full knowledge of every created being;

أَوَلَيْسَ اَلذِي خَلَقَ اَلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يَّخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم بَلَىٰ وَهْوَ اَلْخَلَّٰقُ اُلْعَلِيمُ﴿80﴾

أوليس الذي خلق السموت والأرض بقدر على أن يخلق مثلهم بلى وهو الخلق العليم

the One Who made for you fire out of the green tree, with which you kindle your fires.”

إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَئْاً أَنْ يَّقُولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ﴿81﴾

إنما أمره إذا أراد شيا أن يقول له كن فيكون

Is not the One Who created the heavens and earth able to create the like of these [people]? Yes indeed, for He is the Creator of all, the All-Knowing.

فَسُبْحَٰنَ اَلذِي بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿82﴾

فسبحن الذي بيده ملكوت كل شيء وإليه ترجعون

Whenever He wills something to be, He only says to it, “Be”, and it is.
