أَلَٓرَ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ اُلْكِتَٰبِ اِلْحَكِيمِ﴿1﴾
ألر تلك ءايت الكتب الحكيم
Alif Lām Ra. These are the verses of the Book of wisdom.
أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَباً أَنْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنْهُمْ أَنْ أَنذِرِ اِلنَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ اِلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ اَلْكَٰفِرُونَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسِحْرٞ مُّبِينٌ﴿2﴾
أكان للناس عجبا أن أوحينا إلى رجل منهم أن أنذر الناس وبشر الذين ءامنوا أن لهم قدم صدق عند ربهم قال الكفرون إن هذا لسحر مبين
Is it surprising to people that We have sent revelation to a man from among themselves to warn people and give glad tidings to those who believe, that they will have a noble position with their Lord? But the disbelievers say, “This man is a clear magician!”
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اُللَّهُ اُلذِي خَلَقَ اَلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ ثُمَّ اَسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى اَلْعَرْشِ يُدَبِّرُ اُلْأَمْرَ مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ إِذْنِهِ ذَٰلِكُمُ اُللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ أَفَلَا تَذَّكَّرُونَ﴿3﴾
إن ربكم الله الذي خلق السموت والأرض في ستة أيام ثم استوى على العرش يدبر الأمر ما من شفيع إلا من بعد إذنه ذلكم الله ربكم فاعبدوه أفلا تذكرون
Allah is your Lord Who created the heavens and earth in six Days and then rose over the Throne, governing all affairs. None can intercede except by His permission. Such is Allah your Lord, so worship Him. Will you not then take heed?
إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعاٗ وَعْدَ اَللَّهِ حَقّاً إِنَّهُ يَبْدَؤُاْ اُلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ لِيَجْزِيَ اَلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ بِالْقِسْطِ وَالذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَهُمْ شَرَابٞ مِّنْ حَمِيمٖ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ﴿4﴾
إليه مرجعكم جميعا وعد الله حقا إنه يبدؤا الخلق ثم يعيده ليجزي الذين ءامنوا وعملوا الصلحت بالقسط والذين كفروا لهم شراب من حميم وعذاب أليم بما كانوا يكفرون
To Him is your return altogether. Allah’s promise will surely come true. He originates the creation then brings it back, so that He may justly reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. But for those who disbelieve, there will be a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment because of their disbelief.
هُوَ اَلذِي جَعَلَ اَلشَّمْسَ ضِيَآءٗ وَالْقَمَرَ نُوراٗ وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُواْ عَدَدَ اَلسِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ اَللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ نُفَصِّلُ اُلْأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٖ يَعْلَمُونَ﴿5﴾
هو الذي جعل الشمس ضياء والقمر نورا وقدره منازل لتعلموا عدد السنين والحساب ما خلق الله ذلك إلا بالحق نفصل الأيت لقوم يعلمون
It is He Who made the sun a radiant light and the moon a reflected light, and precisely determined its phases, so that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allah has not created all of this except for a true purpose. He makes the signs clear for people who know.
إِنَّ فِي اِخْتِلَٰفِ اِليْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا خَلَقَ اَللَّهُ فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوْمٖ يَتَّقُونَ﴿6﴾
إن في اختلف اليل والنهار وما خلق الله في السموت والأرض لأيت لقوم يتقون
Indeed, in the alternation of the night and day, and in what Allah has created in the heavens and earth, there are signs for people who fear Him.
إِنَّ اَلذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا وَرَضُواْ بِالْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا وَاطْمَأَنُّواْ بِهَا وَالذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا غَٰفِلُونَ﴿7﴾
إن الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا ورضوا بالحيوة الدنيا واطمأنوا بها والذين هم عن ءايتنا غفلون
Those who do not expect to meet Us, and are pleased and content with the life of this world, and those who are heedless of Our signs,
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَيٰهُمُ اُلنَّارُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ﴿8﴾
أولئك مأويهم النار بما كانوا يكسبون
their abode will be the Fire, for what they used to earn.
إِنَّ اَلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ يَهْدِيهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِإِيمَٰنِهِمْ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ اُلْأَنْهَٰرُ فِي جَنَّٰتِ اِلنَّعِيمِ﴿9﴾
إن الذين ءامنوا وعملوا الصلحت يهديهم ربهم بإيمنهم تجري من تحتهم الأنهر في جنت النعيم
As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, their Lord will guide them by virtue of their faith. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Bliss.
دَعْوَيٰهُمْ فِيهَا سُبْحَٰنَكَ اَللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٞ وَءَاخِرُ دَعْوَيٰهُمْ أَنِ اِلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ اِلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿10﴾
دعويهم فيها سبحنك اللهم وتحيتهم فيها سلم وءاخر دعويهم أن الحمد لله رب العلمين
Their prayer will be, “Glorify be to You, O Allah,” and their greeting will be, “Peace,” and the closing of their prayer will be, “All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”
وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اُللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ اِلشَّرَّ اَسْتِعْجَالَهُم بِالْخَيْرِ لَقُضِيَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ فَنَذَرُ اُلذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا فِي طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ﴿11﴾
ولو يعجل الله للناس الشر استعجالهم بالخير لقضي إليهم أجلهم فنذر الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا في طغينهم يعمهون
If Allah were to hasten evil to the people, just as they seek to hasten good, they would have been ruined. But We leave those who do not expect to meet Us to wander blindly in their transgression.
وَإِذَا مَسَّ اَلْإِنسَٰنَ اَلضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِداً أَوْ قَآئِماٗ فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَىٰ ضُرّٖ مَّسَّهُ كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ﴿12﴾
وإذا مس الإنسن الضر دعانا لجنبه أو قاعدا أو قائما فلما كشفنا عنه ضره مر كأن لم يدعنا إلى ضر مسه كذلك زين للمسرفين ما كانوا يعملون
When hardship befalls man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side, sitting or standing. But when We remove his hardship, he turns a blind eye as though he had never called upon Us to remove his hardship. This is how the misdeeds of the transgressors are made appealing to them.
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا اَلْقُرُونَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُواْ وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي اِلْقَوْمَ اَلْمُجْرِمِينَ﴿13﴾
ولقد أهلكنا القرون من قبلكم لما ظلموا وجاءتهم رسلهم بالبينت وما كانوا ليؤمنوا كذلك نجزي القوم المجرمين
We destroyed the generations before you when they indulged in wrongdoing, and their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe. This is how We recompense the wicked people.
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿14﴾
ثم جعلنكم خلئف في الأرض من بعدهم لننظر كيف تعملون
Then We made you their successors in the land to see how you would behave.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ اَلذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا اَئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَٰذَا أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِيَ أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُ مِن تِلْقَآءِيْ نَفْسِيَ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٖ﴿15﴾
وإذا تتلى عليهم ءاياتنا بينت قال الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا ايت بقرءان غير هذا أو بدله قل ما يكون لي أن أبدله من تلقاءي نفسي إن أتبع إلا ما يوحى إلي إني أخاف إن عصيت ربي عذاب يوم عظيم
When Our verses are recited to them clearly, those who do not expect to meet Us say, “Bring us a different Qur’an, or make changes in it.” Say, “It is not for me to change it on my own accord; I only follow what is revealed to me. If I were to disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a momentous Day.”
قُل لَّوْ شَآءَ اَللَّهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَدْرَيٰكُم بِهِ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُراٗ مِّن قَبْلِهِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ﴿16﴾
قل لو شاء الله ما تلوته عليكم ولا أدريكم به فقد لبثت فيكم عمرا من قبله أفلا تعقلون
Say, “If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. I have spent a lifetime among you before this. Do you not then understand?”
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ اِفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اَللَّهِ كَذِباً أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ اُلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿17﴾
فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أو كذب بـايته إنه لا يفلح المجرمون
Who does greater wrong than he who fabricates lies against Allah or rejects His verses? Indeed, the wicked will never succeed.
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَٰؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ اَللَّهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ اَللَّهَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي اِلْأَرْضِ سُبْحَٰنَهُ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴿18﴾
ويعبدون من دون الله ما لا يضرهم ولا ينفعهم ويقولون هؤلاء شفعؤنا عند الله قل أتنبـون الله بما لا يعلم في السموت ولا في الأرض سبحنه وتعلى عما يشركون
They worship besides Allah those who can neither harm nor benefit them, saying, “These are our intercessors with Allah.” Say, “Do you inform Allah of what He does not know in the heavens or on the earth? Glorified and Exalted is He far above what they associate [with Him]!”
وَمَا كَانَ اَلنَّاسُ إِلَّا أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَاخْتَلَفُواْ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ﴿19﴾
وما كان الناس إلا أمة وحدة فاختلفوا ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك لقضي بينهم فيما فيه يختلفون
The whole of mankind was but a single community, then they differed. If it had not been for a prior decree from your Lord, a decisive judgment would have been passed between them concerning their differences.
وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا اَلْغَيْبُ لِلهِ فَانتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ اَلْمُنتَظِرِينَ﴿20﴾
ويقولون لولا أنزل عليه ءاية من ربه فقل إنما الغيب لله فانتظروا إني معكم من المنتظرين
They say, “Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say [O Prophet], “The unseen belongs to Allah alone. Wait then; I too am waiting with you.”
وَإِذَا أَذَقْنَا اَلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةٗ مِّن بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُمْ إِذَا لَهُم مَّكْرٞ فِي ءَايَاتِنَا قُلِ اِللَّهُ أَسْرَعُ مَكْراً إِنَّ رُسُلَنَا يَكْتُبُونَ مَا تَمْكُرُونَ﴿21﴾
وإذا أذقنا الناس رحمة من بعد ضراء مستهم إذا لهم مكر في ءاياتنا قل الله أسرع مكرا إن رسلنا يكتبون ما تمكرون
When We give people a taste of mercy after being afflicted with adversity, they start plotting against Our verses. Say, “Allah is swifter in planning [retribution]. Our angel-messengers record whatever you plot.”
هُوَ اَلذِي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي اِلْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِي اِلْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٖ طَيِّبَةٖ وَفَرِحُواْ بِهَا جَآءَتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٞ وَجَآءَهُمُ اُلْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُاْ اُللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ اُلدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَٰذِهِ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَلشَّٰكِرِينَ﴿22﴾
هو الذي يسيركم في البر والبحر حتى إذا كنتم في الفلك وجرين بهم بريح طيبة وفرحوا بها جاءتها ريح عاصف وجاءهم الموج من كل مكان وظنوا أنهم أحيط بهم دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين لئن أنجيتنا من هذه لنكونن من الشكرين
It is He Who enables you to travel through the land and sea, until when you are in the ships and they sail with those on board and rejoicing in a favorable wind, then suddenly a stormy wind comes, with waves crashing into them on all sides, and they feel that there is no escape. Then they cry out to Allah with sincere devotion to Him, “If You save us from this, we will surely be among those who are grateful.”
فَلَمَّا أَنجَيٰهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ اِلْحَقِّ يَٰأَيُّهَا اَلنَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِكُم مَّتَٰعُ اُلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿23﴾
فلما أنجيهم إذا هم يبغون في الأرض بغير الحق يأيها الناس إنما بغيكم على أنفسكم متع الحيوة الدنيا ثم إلينا مرجعكم فننبيكم بما كنتم تعملون
However, when He saves them, they start transgressing in the land unjustly. O people, your transgression is against your own souls. Take your little enjoyment in this life; then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.
إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ اُلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا كَمَآءٍ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ مِنَ اَلسَّمَآءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ اُلْأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ اُلنَّاسُ وَالْأَنْعَٰمُ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ اِلْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَٰدِرُونَ عَلَيْهَا أَتَيٰهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلاً أَوْ نَهَاراٗ فَجَعَلْنَٰهَا حَصِيداٗ كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِالْأَمْسِ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ اُلْأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴿24﴾
إنما مثل الحيوة الدنيا كماء أنزلنه من السماء فاختلط به نبات الأرض مما يأكل الناس والأنعم حتى إذا أخذت الأرض زخرفها وازينت وظن أهلها أنهم قدرون عليها أتيها أمرنا ليلا أو نهارا فجعلنها حصيدا كأن لم تغن بالأمس كذلك نفصل الأيت لقوم يتفكرون
The likeness of the life of this world is that of the rain that We send down from the sky, and it mixes with the plants of the earth, from which both humans and livestock eat. Then when the earth is in its splendor and its fairest appearance, and its owners feel that they have full control over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, and We reduce it to stubble, as if it had not flourished the day before. This is how We make the signs clear for people who reflect.
وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُواْ إِلَىٰ دَارِ اِلسَّلَٰمِ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَّشَآءُ اِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖ﴿25﴾
والله يدعوا إلى دار السلم ويهدي من يشاء الى صرط مستقيم
Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path.
لِّلذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ اُلْحُسْنَىٰ وَزِيَادَةٞ وَلَا يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٞ وَلَا ذِلَّةٌ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ اُلْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ﴿26﴾
للذين أحسنوا الحسنى وزيادة ولا يرهق وجوههم قتر ولا ذلة أولئك أصحب الجنة هم فيها خلدون
For those who do good, there will be the best reward and more – neither gloom nor humiliation will cover their faces. It is they who are the people of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.
وَالذِينَ كَسَبُواْ اُلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ جَزَآءُ سَيِّئَةِ بِمِثْلِهَا وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٞ مَّا لَهُم مِّنَ اَللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٖ كَأَنَّمَا أُغْشِيَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ قِطَعاٗ مِّنَ اَليْلِ مُظْلِماً أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ اُلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ﴿27﴾
والذين كسبوا السيـات جزاء سيية بمثلها وترهقهم ذلة ما لهم من الله من عاصم كأنما أغشيت وجوههم قطعا من اليل مظلما أولئك أصحب النار هم فيها خلدون
As for those who commit evil deeds, the recompense of an evil deed is the like thereof, and humiliation will cover them – there will be none to protect them from Allah – as if their faces were covered with patches of the darkest night. It is they who are the people of the Fire, they will abide therein forever.
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعاٗ ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالَ شُرَكَآؤُهُم مَّا كُنتُمْ إِيَّانَا تَعْبُدُونَ﴿28﴾
ويوم نحشرهم جميعا ثم نقول للذين أشركوا مكانكم أنتم وشركاؤكم فزيلنا بينهم وقال شركاؤهم ما كنتم إيانا تعبدون
On the Day when We gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated partners with Us, “Stay where you are, you and your [so-called] partners!” Then We will separate them, and their partners will say, “It was not us that you used to worship!
فَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيداَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَٰفِلِينَ﴿29﴾
فكفى بالله شهيدا بيننا وبينكم إن كنا عن عبادتكم لغفلين
Allah is sufficient as a Witness between us and you that we were completely unaware of your worship.”
هُنَالِكَ تَبْلُواْ كُلُّ نَفْسٖ مَّا أَسْلَفَتْ وَرُدُّواْ إِلَى اَللَّهِ مَوْلَيٰهُمُ اُلْحَقِّ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ﴿30﴾
هنالك تبلوا كل نفس ما أسلفت وردوا إلى الله موليهم الحق وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون
Thereupon, every soul will realize what it did in the past. They will be brought back to Allah, their True Guardian, and all [false gods] that they fabricated will vanish from them.
قُلْ مَنْ يَّرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ اَلسَّمَآءِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَمَّنْ يَّمْلِكُ اُلسَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَٰرَ وَمَنْ يُّخْرِجُ اُلْحَيَّ مِنَ اَلْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ اُلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ اَلْحَيِّ وَمَنْ يُّدَبِّرُ اُلْأَمْرَ فَسَيَقُولُونَ اَللَّهُ فَقُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿31﴾
قل من يرزقكم من السماء والأرض أمن يملك السمع والأبصر ومن يخرج الحي من الميت ويخرج الميت من الحي ومن يدبر الأمر فسيقولون الله فقل أفلا تتقون
Say, “Who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Or who owns [your] hearing and sight? Who brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living? Who controls all things?” They will say, “Allah.” Say, “Do you not then fear Him?
فَذَٰلِكُمُ اُللَّهُ رَبُّكُمُ اُلْحَقُّ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ اَلْحَقِّ إِلَّا اَلضَّلَٰلُ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ﴿32﴾
فذلكم الله ربكم الحق فماذا بعد الحق إلا الضلل فأنى تصرفون
Such is Allah, your True Lord. What is beyond the truth except falsehood? So how could you be averted [from the truth]?”
كَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَٰتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى اَلذِينَ فَسَقُواْ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿33﴾
كذلك حقت كلمت ربك على الذين فسقوا أنهم لا يؤمنون
Thus the decree of your Lord has come true against the wicked, that they will never believe.
قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّنْ يَّبْدَؤُاْ اُلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ قُلِ اِللَّهُ يَبْدَؤُاْ اُلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ﴿34﴾
قل هل من شركائكم من يبدؤا الخلق ثم يعيده قل الله يبدؤا الخلق ثم يعيده فأنى تؤفكون
Say, “Can any of your [so-called] partners originate creation and then repeat it?” Say, “Allah originates creation and then repeats it. How are you then deluded [from the truth]?”
قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّنْ يَّهْدِي إِلَى اَلْحَقِّ قُلِ اِللَّهُ يَهْدِي لِلْحَقِّ أَفَمَنْ يَّهْدِي إِلَى اَلْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُّتَّبَعَ أَمَّن لَّا يَهدِّي إِلَّا أَنْ يُّهْدَىٰ فَمَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ﴿35﴾
قل هل من شركائكم من يهدي إلى الحق قل الله يهدي للحق أفمن يهدي إلى الحق أحق أن يتبع أمن لا يهدي إلا أن يهدى فما لكم كيف تحكمون
Say, “Can any of your [so-called] partners guide to the truth?” Say, “Allah guides to the truth.” Who is then more worthy to be followed: the One Who guides to the truth, or he who has no guidance unless he himself is guided? What is the matter with you, that you judge so?
وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنّاً إِنَّ اَلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اَلْحَقِّ شَئْاً إِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَلِيمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ﴿36﴾
وما يتبع أكثرهم إلا ظنا إن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيا إن الله عليم بما يفعلون
Most of them follow nothing but assumptions. However, assumptions are of no avail against the truth. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of what they do.
وَمَا كَانَ هَٰذَا اَلْقُرْءَانُ أَنْ يُّفْتَرَىٰ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ اَلذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ اَلْكِتَٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ اِلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿37﴾
وما كان هذا القرءان أن يفترى من دون الله ولكن تصديق الذي بين يديه وتفصيل الكتب لا ريب فيه من رب العلمين
This Qur’an could not possibly have been produced by anyone other than Allah. It is a confirmation of what came before it and an explanation of the Scripture and is undoubtedly from the Lord of the worlds.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ اَفْتَرَيٰهُ قُلْ فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٖ مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ مَنِ اِسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ اِللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ﴿38﴾
أم يقولون افتريه قل فأتوا بسورة مثله وادعوا من استطعتم من دون الله إن كنتم صدقين
Or do they say, “He fabricated it?” Say, “Produce then one chapter like it, and call upon whoever you can other than Allah, if you are truthful!”
بَلْ كَذَّبُواْ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُواْ بِعِلْمِهِ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ اَلذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿39﴾
بل كذبوا بما لم يحيطوا بعلمه ولما يأتهم تأويله كذلك كذب الذين من قبلهم فانظر كيف كان عقبة الظلمين
But they rejected that which they did not comprehend, and its warning has not yet been fulfilled against them. Similarly, those who came before them refused to believe. Then see how was the end of the wrongdoers!
وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَ﴿40﴾
ومنهم من يؤمن به ومنهم من لا يؤمن به وربك أعلم بالمفسدين
There are some among them who will believe in it and others will not. And your Lord knows best those who spread corruption.
وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّي عَمَلِي وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ أَنتُم بَرِيٓـُٔونَ مِمَّا أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ﴿41﴾
وإن كذبوك فقل لي عملي ولكم عملكم أنتم بريـون مما أعمل وأنا بريء مما تعملون
If they reject you, then say, “My deeds are mine and your deeds are yours. You are not responsible for what I do, nor am I responsible for what you do.”
وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ يَّسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ اُلصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ﴿42﴾
ومنهم من يستمعون إليك أفأنت تسمع الصم ولو كانوا لا يعقلون
Among them are some who listen to you, but can you make the deaf hear, even though they have no understanding?
وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ يَّنظُرُ إِلَيْكَ أَفَأَنتَ تَهْدِي اِلْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ﴿43﴾
ومنهم من ينظر إليك أفأنت تهدي العمي ولو كانوا لا يبصرون
And among them are some who look at you, but can you guide the blind even though they have no sight?
إِنَّ اَللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ اُلنَّاسَ شَئْاٗ وَلَٰكِنَّ اَلنَّاسَ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ﴿44﴾
إن الله لا يظلم الناس شيا ولكن الناس أنفسهم يظلمون
Allah does not wrong people in the least, but it is people who wrong themselves.
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُواْ إِلَّا سَاعَةٗ مِّنَ اَلنَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ قَدْ خَسِرَ اَلذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِلِقَآءِ اِللَّهِ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهْتَدِينَ﴿45﴾
ويوم نحشرهم كأن لم يلبثوا إلا ساعة من النهار يتعارفون بينهم قد خسر الذين كذبوا بلقاء الله وما كانوا مهتدين
On the Day when He will gather them, it will be as if they had not stayed [in this world] except for an hour of a day, they will recognize one another. Those who denied the meeting of Allah will be losers, for they did not follow guidance.
وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ اَلذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ اَللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ﴿46﴾
وإما نرينك بعض الذي نعدهم أو نتوفينك فإلينا مرجعهم ثم الله شهيد على ما يفعلون
Whether We show you [O Prophet] some of that [punishment] of which We warn them, or We cause you to die, to Us is their return, and Allah is a Witness to all what they do.
وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٖ رَّسُولٞ فَإِذَا جَآءَ رَسُولُهُمْ قُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِالْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ﴿47﴾
ولكل أمة رسول فإذا جاء رسولهم قضي بينهم بالقسط وهم لا يظلمون
For every people there is a messenger. When their messenger comes, it will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged.
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا اَلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ﴿48﴾
ويقولون متى هذا الوعد إن كنتم صدقين
They say, “When will this warning come to pass, if you are truthful?”
قُل لَّا أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي ضَرّاٗ وَلَا نَفْعاً إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اَللَّهُ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ إِذَا جَا أَجَلُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَٰٔخِرُونَ سَاعَةٗ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ﴿49﴾
قل لا أملك لنفسي ضرا ولا نفعا إلا ما شاء الله لكل أمة أجل إذا جا أجلهم فلا يستخرون ساعة ولا يستقدمون
Say, “I have no power to harm or benefit myself, except by the Will of Allah.” For every people there is an appointed term; when their time comes, they can neither delay it for a moment nor can they bring it forward.
قُلْ أَرَٰيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَيٰكُمْ عَذَابُهُ بَيَٰتاً أَوْ نَهَاراٗ مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ اُلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿50﴾
قل أريتم إن أتيكم عذابه بيتا أو نهارا ماذا يستعجل منه المجرمون
Say, “What do you think, if His punishment were to overtake you by night or by day, what part of it would the wicked seek to hasten?
أَثُمَّ إِذَا مَا وَقَعَ ءَامَنتُم بِهِ ءَآلَٰنَ وَقَدْ كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ﴿51﴾
أثم إذا ما وقع ءامنتم به ءالن وقد كنتم به تستعجلون
Will you believe in it only after it befalls you? Now! While you used to seek its hastening?”
ثُمَّ قِيلَ لِلذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ اَلْخُلْدِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ﴿52﴾
ثم قيل للذين ظلموا ذوقوا عذاب الخلد هل تجزون إلا بما كنتم تكسبون
Then the wrongdoers will be told, “Taste the everlasting punishment! Are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?”
وَيَسْتَنبِـُٔونَكَ أَحَقٌّ هُوَ قُلْ إِي وَرَبِّيَ إِنَّهُ لَحَقّٞ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ﴿53﴾
ويستنبـونك أحق هو قل إي وربي إنه لحق وما أنتم بمعجزين
They ask you, “Is it true?” Say, “Yes, by my Lord. It is certainly true, and you cannot escape it.”
وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسٖ ظَلَمَتْ مَا فِي اِلْأَرْضِ لَافْتَدَتْ بِهِ وَأَسَرُّواْ اُلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُاْ اُلْعَذَابَ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِالْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ﴿54﴾
ولو أن لكل نفس ظلمت ما في الأرض لافتدت به وأسروا الندامة لما رأوا العذاب وقضي بينهم بالقسط وهم لا يظلمون
If every wrongdoer were to possess all that is on earth, he would surely offer it to ransom himself. They will hide their remorse when they see the punishment. They will be judged in all fairness, and they will not be wronged.
أَلَا إِنَّ لِلهِ مَا فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَلَا إِنَّ وَعْدَ اَللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴿55﴾
ألا إن لله ما في السموت والأرض ألا إن وعد الله حق ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون
Indeed, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and earth. Allah’s promise is certainly true, but most of them do not know.
هُوَ يُحْيِ وَيُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿56﴾
هو يحي ويميت وإليه ترجعون
It is He Who gives life and causes death, and to Him you will all be returned.
يَٰأَيُّهَا اَلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَآءٞ لِّمَا فِي اِلصُّدُورِ وَهُدىٗ وَرَحْمَةٞ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿57﴾
يأيها الناس قد جاءتكم موعظة من ربكم وشفاء لما في الصدور وهدى ورحمة للمؤمنين
O people, there has come to you an exhortation from your Lord, a cure for [illness] of the hearts, a guidance and mercy for the believers.
قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اِللَّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٞ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ﴿58﴾
قل بفضل الله وبرحمته فبذلك فليفرحوا هو خير مما يجمعون
Say, “By Allah’s grace and His mercy let them therefore rejoice. It is much better than what they accumulate.”
قُلْ أَرَٰيْتُم مَّا أَنزَلَ اَللَّهُ لَكُم مِّن رِّزْقٖ فَجَعَلْتُم مِّنْهُ حَرَاماٗ وَحَلَٰلاٗ قُلْ ءَآللَّهُ أَذِنَ لَكُمْ أَمْ عَلَى اَللَّهِ تَفْتَرُونَ﴿59﴾
قل أريتم ما أنزل الله لكم من رزق فجعلتم منه حراما وحللا قل ءالله أذن لكم أم على الله تفترون
Say [to the pagans], “What do you think about the provision that Allah has sent down to you, of which you made some unlawful and some lawful.” Say, “Has Allah given you permission or are you fabricating lies against Allah?”
وَمَا ظَنُّ اُلذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اَللَّهِ اِلْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ اَلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى اَلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ﴿60﴾
وما ظن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب يوم القيمة إن الله لذو فضل على الناس ولكن أكثرهم لا يشكرون
What do those who fabricate lies against Allah think of it on the Day of Judgment? Indeed, Allah is bountiful to people, yet most of them are ungrateful.
وَمَا تَكُونُ فِي شَأْنٖ وَمَا تَتْلُواْ مِنْهُ مِن قُرْءَانٖ وَلَا تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ شُهُوداً إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ وَمَا يَعْزُبُ عَن رَّبِّكَ مِن مِّثْقَالِ ذَرَّةٖ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي اِلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا أَصْغَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرَ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبٖ مُّبِينٍ﴿61﴾
وما تكون في شأن وما تتلوا منه من قرءان ولا تعملون من عمل إلا كنا عليكم شهودا إذ تفيضون فيه وما يعزب عن ربك من مثقال ذرة في الأرض ولا في السماء ولا أصغر من ذلك ولا أكبر إلا في كتب مبين
Whatever matter you [O Prophet] may be engaged in, and whatever portion of the Qur’an you may recite, and whatever deed you [O people] may do, We are a Witness over you when you are engaged in it. Nothing is hidden from your Lord, not even an atom’s weight on earth nor in heaven, nor anything smaller or greater than that, except that it is [written] in a clear Record.
أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَآءَ اَللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ﴿62﴾
ألا إن أولياء الله لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون
Indeed, the allies of Allah will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
اَلذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ﴿63﴾
الذين ءامنوا وكانوا يتقون
Those who believe and fear Allah.
لَهُمُ اُلْبُشْرَىٰ فِي اِلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا وَفِي اِلْأٓخِرَةِ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ اِللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَلْفَوْزُ اُلْعَظِيمُ﴿64﴾
لهم البشرى في الحيوة الدنيا وفي الأخرة لا تبديل لكلمت الله ذلك هو الفوز العظيم
For them are glad tidings in the life of this world and in the Hereafter; there is no change in Allah’s words. That is the supreme triumph.
وَلَا يُحْزِنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّ اَلْعِزَّةَ لِلهِ جَمِيعاً هُوَ اَلسَّمِيعُ اُلْعَلِيمُ﴿65﴾
ولا يحزنك قولهم إن العزة لله جميعا هو السميع العليم
Do not let their words grieve you. Indeed, all power belongs to Allah. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
أَلَا إِنَّ لِلهِ مَن فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ اُلذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ انْ يَّتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا اَلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ﴿66﴾
ألا إن لله من في السموت ومن في الأرض وما يتبع الذين يدعون من دون الله شركاء ان يتبعون إلا الظن وإن هم إلا يخرصون
Indeed, to Allah belongs all those who are in the heavens and all those who are on earth. Those who invoke [so-called] partners besides Allah follow nothing but conjecture and they do nothing but lie.
هُوَ اَلذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُليْلَ لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِراً إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوْمٖ يَسْمَعُونَ﴿67﴾
هو الذي جعل لكم اليل لتسكنوا فيه والنهار مبصرا إن في ذلك لأيت لقوم يسمعون
It is He Who made the night for you to rest therein and the day bright. Indeed, there are signs in this for people who listen.
قَالُواْ اُتَّخَذَ اَللَّهُ وَلَداٗ سُبْحَٰنَهُ هُوَ اَلْغَنِيُّ لَهُ مَا فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي اِلْأَرْضِ إِنْ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنِ بِهَٰذَا أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اَللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴿68﴾
قالوا اتخذ الله ولدا سبحنه هو الغني له ما في السموت وما في الأرض إن عندكم من سلطن بهذا أتقولون على الله ما لا تعلمون
They say, “Allah has taken a son.” Glory be to Him! He is the Self-Sufficient. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth. You have no proof for this. Do you say about Allah something that you do not know?
قُلْ إِنَّ اَلذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اَللَّهِ اِلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ﴿69﴾
قل إن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب لا يفلحون
Say, “Those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed.”
مَتَٰعٞ فِي اِلدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ اُلْعَذَابَ اَلشَّدِيدَ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ﴿70﴾
متع في الدنيا ثم إلينا مرجعهم ثم نذيقهم العذاب الشديد بما كانوا يكفرون
A short enjoyment in this life, then to Us is their return, then We will make them taste the severe punishment because of their disbelief.
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ نُوحٍ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ يَٰقَوْمِ إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكُم مَّقَامِي وَتَذْكِيرِي بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِللَّهِ فَعَلَى اَللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ فَأَجْمِعُواْ أَمْرَكُمْ وَشُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُنْ أَمْرُكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ غُمَّةٗ ثُمَّ اَقْضُواْ إِلَيَّ وَلَا تُنظِرُونِ﴿71﴾
واتل عليهم نبأ نوح إذ قال لقومه يقوم إن كان كبر عليكم مقامي وتذكيري بـايت الله فعلى الله توكلت فأجمعوا أمركم وشركاءكم ثم لا يكن أمركم عليكم غمة ثم اقضوا إلي ولا تنظرون
Relate to them the story of Noah when he said to his people, “O my People, if my presence among you and my reminding you of Allah’s signs have become unbearable to you, then in Allah I have put my trust. So gather all your schemes, you and your [so-called] partners, leaving no room for uncertainty, then carry it out against me, and give me no respite.
فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَمَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اَللَّهِ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ اَلْمُسْلِمِينَ﴿72﴾
فإن توليتم فما سألتكم من أجر إن أجري إلا على الله وأمرت أن أكون من المسلمين
But if you turn away, then I have not asked you for any reward. My reward is only with Allah, and I have been commanded to be among those who submit to Allah [as Muslims].”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي اِلْفُلْكِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ وَأَغْرَقْنَا اَلذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ اُلْمُنذَرِينَ﴿73﴾
فكذبوه فنجينه ومن معه في الفلك وجعلنهم خلئف وأغرقنا الذين كذبوا بـايتنا فانظر كيف كان عقبة المنذرين
But they rejected him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the Ark, and made them successors, and We drowned those who rejected Our signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned.
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِ رُسُلاً إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ بِمَا كَذَّبُواْ بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَٰلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ اِلْمُعْتَدِينَ﴿74﴾
ثم بعثنا من بعده رسلا إلى قومهم فجاءوهم بالبينت فما كانوا ليؤمنوا بما كذبوا به من قبل كذلك نطبع على قلوب المعتدين
Then We sent after him messengers to their [own] peoples; they came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had already rejected beforehand. This is how We seal the hearts of the transgressors.
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ وَكَانُواْ قَوْماٗ مُّجْرِمِينَ﴿75﴾
ثم بعثنا من بعدهم موسى وهرون إلى فرعون وملإيه بـايتنا فاستكبروا وكانوا قوما مجرمين
Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they showed arrogance and were wicked people.
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ اُلْحَقُّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسِحْرٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿76﴾
فلما جاءهم الحق من عندنا قالوا إن هذا لسحر مبين
So when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “This is indeed a clear magic!”
قَالَ مُوسَىٰ أَتَقُولُونَ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَكُمْ أَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَا وَلَا يُفْلِحُ اُلسَّٰحِرُونَ﴿77﴾
قال موسى أتقولون للحق لما جاءكم أسحر هذا ولا يفلح السحرون
Moses said, “Do you say this about the truth after it has come to you? Can this be magic? But magicians will never succeed.”
قَالُواْ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا اَلْكِبْرِيَآءُ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿78﴾
قالوا أجيتنا لتلفتنا عما وجدنا عليه ءاباءنا وتكون لكما الكبرياء في الأرض وما نحن لكما بمؤمنين
They said, “Have you come to turn us away from what we found our forefathers following, so that you two might become supreme in the land? We will never believe in you!”
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ اُئْتُونِي بِكُلِّ سَٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٖ﴿79﴾
وقال فرعون ايتوني بكل سحر عليم
Pharaoh said, “Bring me all learned magicians.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ اَلسَّحَرَةُ قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ أَلْقُواْ مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ﴿80﴾
فلما جاء السحرة قال لهم موسى ألقوا ما أنتم ملقون
When the magicians came, Moses said to them, “Cast whatever you have to cast.”
فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْاْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ مَا جِئْتُم بِهِ اِلسِّحْرُ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ سَيُبْطِلُهُ إِنَّ اَللَّهَ لَا يُصْلِحُ عَمَلَ اَلْمُفْسِدِينَ﴿81﴾
فلما ألقوا قال موسى ما جيتم به السحر إن الله سيبطله إن الله لا يصلح عمل المفسدين
When they did, Moses said, “All what you have brought is mere magic; Allah will surely make it useless, for Allah does not let the work of the mischief-makers thrive.
وَيُحِقُّ اُللَّهُ اُلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ اَلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿82﴾
ويحق الله الحق بكلمته ولو كره المجرمون
And Allah establishes the truth by His Words, even though the wicked abhor it.”
فَمَا ءَامَنَ لِمُوسَىٰ إِلَّا ذُرِّيَّةٞ مِّن قَوْمِهِ عَلَىٰ خَوْفٖ مِّن فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِمْ أَنْ يَّفْتِنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ لَعَالٖ فِي اِلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّهُ لَمِنَ اَلْمُسْرِفِينَ﴿83﴾
فما ءامن لموسى إلا ذرية من قومه على خوف من فرعون وملإيهم أن يفتنهم وإن فرعون لعال في الأرض وإنه لمن المسرفين
But none believed in Moses except some youth of his own people, despite their fear that Pharaoh and their own chiefs might persecute them. Pharaoh was indeed a tyrant in the land and he was truly one of the transgressors.
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَٰقَوْمِ إِن كُنتُمْ ءَامَنتُم بِاللَّهِ فَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلُواْ إِن كُنتُم مُّسْلِمِينَ﴿84﴾
وقال موسى يقوم إن كنتم ءامنتم بالله فعليه توكلوا إن كنتم مسلمين
Moses said, “O my people, if you have faith in Allah, then put your trust in Him, if you have truly submitted.”
فَقَالُواْ عَلَى اَللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةٗ لِّلْقَوْمِ اِلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿85﴾
فقالوا على الله توكلنا ربنا لا تجعلنا فتنة للقوم الظلمين
They said, “In Allah we put our trust. Our Lord, do not subject us to the persecution of the oppressive people,
وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ اَلْقَوْمِ اِلْكَٰفِرِينَ﴿86﴾
ونجنا برحمتك من القوم الكفرين
and save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.”
وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَأَخِيهِ أَن تَبَوَّءَا لِقَوْمِكُمَا بِمِصْرَ بِيُوتاٗ وَاجْعَلُواْ بِيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةٗ وَأَقِيمُواْ اُلصَّلَوٰةَ وَبَشِّرِ اِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿87﴾
وأوحينا إلى موسى وأخيه أن تبوءا لقومكما بمصر بيوتا واجعلوا بيوتكم قبلة وأقيموا الصلوة وبشر المؤمنين
We inspired Moses and his brother, “Provide houses for your people in Egypt, and make your houses face the qiblah direction, establish prayer, and give glad tidings to the believers.”
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ ءَاتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَأَهُ زِينَةٗ وَأَمْوَٰلاٗ فِي اِلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا لِيَضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِكَ رَبَّنَا اَطْمِسْ عَلَىٰ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَاشْدُدْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ اُلْعَذَابَ اَلْأَلِيمَ﴿88﴾
وقال موسى ربنا إنك ءاتيت فرعون وملأه زينة وأمولا في الحيوة الدنيا ربنا ليضلوا عن سبيلك ربنا اطمس على أمولهم واشدد على قلوبهم فلا يؤمنوا حتى يروا العذاب الأليم
Moses said, “Our Lord, You have given Pharaoh and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the life of this world. Our Lord, they may lead people astray from Your way. Our Lord, destroy their wealth and harden their hearts, so that they may not believe until they see the painful punishment.”
قَالَ قَدْ أُجِيبَت دَّعْوَتُكُمَا فَاسْتَقِيمَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعَٰٓنِّ سَبِيلَ اَلذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴿89﴾
قال قد أجيبت دعوتكما فاستقيما ولا تتبعن سبيل الذين لا يعلمون
Allah said [to Moses and Aaron], “Your prayer is answered, so be steadfast on the straight path, and do not follow the way of those who do not know.”
وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَآءِيلَ اَلْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُودُهُ بَغْياٗ وَعَدْواً حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ اُلْغَرَقُ قَالَ ءَامَنتُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اَلذِي ءَامَنَتْ بِهِ بَنُواْ إِسْرَآءِيلَ وَأَنَا مِنَ اَلْمُسْلِمِينَ﴿90﴾
وجوزنا ببني إسراءيل البحر فأتبعهم فرعون وجنوده بغيا وعدوا حتى إذا أدركه الغرق قال ءامنت أنه لا إله إلا الذي ءامنت به بنوا إسراءيل وأنا من المسلمين
We led the Children of Israel across the sea, then Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them out of transgression and tyranny, until when he was drowning, he said, “I believe that none has the right to be worshiped except He in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of those who submit to Allah.”
ءَآلَٰنَ وَقَدْ عَصَيْتَ قَبْلُ وَكُنتَ مِنَ اَلْمُفْسِدِينَ﴿91﴾
ءالن وقد عصيت قبل وكنت من المفسدين
[He was told], “Now [you believe]? You had always been disobedient, and were one of the mischief-makers!
فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجِّيكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ ءَايَةٗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيراٗ مِّنَ اَلنَّاسِ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَغَٰفِلُونَ﴿92﴾
فاليوم ننجيك ببدنك لتكون لمن خلفك ءاية وإن كثيرا من الناس عن ءايتنا لغفلون
So today We will preserve your body, so that you will be an example for those who come after you, yet most people are heedless of Our signs.”
وَلَقَدْ بَوَّأْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَآءِيلَ مُبَوَّأَ صِدْقٖ وَرَزَقْنَٰهُم مِّنَ اَلطَّيِّبَٰتِ فَمَا اَخْتَلَفُواْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ اُلْعِلْمُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ اَلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ﴿93﴾
ولقد بوأنا بني إسراءيل مبوأ صدق ورزقنهم من الطيبت فما اختلفوا حتى جاءهم العلم إن ربك يقضي بينهم يوم القيمة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون
We settled the Children of Israel in a blessed land and provided good things for their sustenance. They did not differ until after knowledge had come to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
فَإِن كُنتَ فِي شَكّٖ مِّمَّا أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ فَسْـَٔلِ اِلذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ اَلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَقَدْ جَآءَكَ اَلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَلْمُمْتَرِينَ﴿94﴾
فإن كنت في شك مما أنزلنا إليك فسـل الذين يقرءون الكتب من قبلك لقد جاءك الحق من ربك فلا تكونن من الممترين
If you are in doubt about what We have sent down to you [O Prophet], then ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has surely come to you from your Lord, so never be of those who doubt,
وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَلذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ اِللَّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ اَلْخَٰسِرِينَ﴿95﴾
ولا تكونن من الذين كذبوا بـايت الله فتكون من الخسرين
and never be of those who reject the signs of Allah, for then you would be among the losers.
إِنَّ اَلذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَٰتُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿96﴾
إن الذين حقت عليهم كلمت ربك لا يؤمنون
Indeed, those upon whom the decree of Allah is passed will not believe,
وَلَوْ جَآءَتْهُمْ كُلُّ ءَايَةٍ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ اُلْعَذَابَ اَلْأَلِيمَ﴿97﴾
ولو جاءتهم كل ءاية حتى يروا العذاب الأليم
even if every sign were to come to them until they see the painful punishment.
فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَٰنُهَا إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّا ءَامَنُواْ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ اَلْخِزْيِ فِي اِلْحَيَوٰةِ اِلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ﴿98﴾
فلولا كانت قرية ءامنت فنفعها إيمنها إلا قوم يونس لما ءامنوا كشفنا عنهم عذاب الخزي في الحيوة الدنيا ومتعنهم إلى حين
There had never been any town that believed [after seeing the punishment] and benefited from its faith except the people of Jonah. When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world, and let them enjoy themselves for a while.
وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَأٓمَنَ مَن فِي اِلْأَرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعاً أَفَأَنتَ تُكْرِهُ اُلنَّاسَ حَتَّىٰ يَكُونُواْ مُؤْمِنِينَ﴿99﴾
ولو شاء ربك لأمن من في الأرض كلهم جميعا أفأنت تكره الناس حتى يكونوا مؤمنين
Had your Lord willed, all those on earth would have believed altogether. Will you then compel people to become believers?
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تُؤْمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اِللَّهِ وَيَجْعَلُ اُلرِّجْسَ عَلَى اَلذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ﴿100﴾
وما كان لنفس أن تؤمن إلا بإذن الله ويجعل الرجس على الذين لا يعقلون
No soul can believe except by Allah’s will, and He will bring disgrace upon those who do not use their intellect.
قُلُ اُنظُرُواْ مَاذَا فِي اِلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُغْنِي اِلْأٓيَٰتُ وَالنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٖ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿101﴾
قل انظروا ماذا في السموت والأرض وما تغني الأيت والنذر عن قوم لا يؤمنون
Say, “Look at what is in the heavens and earth.” But the signs and warnings are of no avail to those who do not believe.
فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلَّا مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ اِلذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قُلْ فَانتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ اَلْمُنتَظِرِينَ﴿102﴾
فهل ينتظرون إلا مثل أيام الذين خلوا من قبلهم قل فانتظروا إني معكم من المنتظرين
Are they waiting except for the same punishment that befell those who came before them? Say, “Then wait. I too am waiting with you.”
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي رُسُلَنَا وَالذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كَذَٰلِكَ حَقّاً عَلَيْنَا نُنَجِّ اِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿103﴾
ثم ننجي رسلنا والذين ءامنوا كذلك حقا علينا ننج المؤمنين
Then We will save Our messengers and those who believe. For We took it upon Us to save the believers.
قُلْ يَٰأَيُّهَا اَلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي شَكّٖ مِّن دِينِي فَلَا أَعْبُدُ اُلذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنْ أَعْبُدُ اُللَّهَ اَلذِي يَتَوَفَّيٰكُمْ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿104﴾
قل يأيها الناس إن كنتم في شك من ديني فلا أعبد الذين تعبدون من دون الله ولكن أعبد الله الذي يتوفيكم وأمرت أن أكون من المؤمنين
Say [O Prophet], “O people, if you are in doubt about my religion, then I do not worship those whom you worship besides Allah. But I worship Allah, Who causes you to die, and I have been commanded to be one of the believers.
وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفاٗ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ اَلْمُشْرِكِينَ﴿105﴾
وأن أقم وجهك للدين حنيفا ولا تكونن من المشركين
And be steadfast and exclusively devoted to true faith, and never be of those who associate partners with Allah.
وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ اِللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذاٗ مِّنَ اَلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿106﴾
ولا تدع من دون الله ما لا ينفعك ولا يضرك فإن فعلت فإنك إذا من الظلمين
Do not supplicate besides Allah that which can neither benefit nor harm you, for if you do so, you will be one of the wrongdoers.
وَإِنْ يَّمْسَسْكَ اَللَّهُ بِضُرّٖ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلَّا هُوَ وَإِنْ يُّرِدْكَ بِخَيْرٖ فَلَا رَآدَّ لِفَضْلِهِ يُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَهْوَ اَلْغَفُورُ اُلرَّحِيمُ﴿107﴾
وإن يمسسك الله بضر فلا كاشف له إلا هو وإن يردك بخير فلا راد لفضله يصيب به من يشاء من عباده وهو الغفور الرحيم
If Allah afflicts you with harm, none can remove it except Him; if He wants good for you, none can withhold His bounty. He grants it to whom He wills of His slaves, and He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”
قُلْ يَٰأَيُّهَا اَلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَكُمُ اُلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَنِ اِهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا وَمَا أَنَا عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٖ﴿108﴾
قل يأيها الناس قد جاءكم الحق من ربكم فمن اهتدى فإنما يهتدي لنفسه ومن ضل فإنما يضل عليها وما أنا عليكم بوكيل
Say, “O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord. So whoever accepts guidance, it is only for his own good; and whoever goes astray, it is only for his own loss. I am not a keeper over you.”
وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ اَللَّهُ وَهْوَ خَيْرُ اُلْحَٰكِمِينَ﴿109﴾
واتبع ما يوحى إليك واصبر حتى يحكم الله وهو خير الحكمين
Follow what is revealed to you, and be patient until Allah passes His judgment, for He is the Best of Judges.
